Selection Criteria
Millennium High School is a screened program.  This means that the school selects their applicants based on criteria set by the school.  Criteria to be considered for admission to Millennium includes:
  • 90% average (of core academic classes).
  • 10 or less combined absences and late marks for the school year.
  • Citywide standardized test scores in level 3 or 4.
Admission preference is given to students who live or attend school below Houston Street, but we currently have students attending from all five boroughs.  In 2009, we had over 4,500 applications for 150 seats.

In addition to the above criteria, it is optional to submit a one page personal essay (250-500 words, single or double spaced):  Tell us about a challenging problem and how you solved it.

The deadline to submit your essay is December 2nd, 2010.   We no longer accept essays on hard copy, so please do not mail it.   Essays must be submitted through our website.  An online form will be posted soon.  If you do not have internet access at home, you can visit any NYC public library for free internet service.
